I recently attacked a -2.4 sec rated player with a 100k bounty in 0.4 space, assuming that concord's response would be slow enough that I wouldn't have much trouble killing him and escaping...
I was wrong, the sentry guns at the gate immidiately opened fire on me, destroying my ship. I had neither Missles nor Smart Bombs, so I wasn't doing any splash damage (unless they added splash to rails...)
Any ideas on why the Sentry Guns attacked me? I assumed it would be safe due the fact that 0.4 systems are so often camped by pirates, who obviously are not attacked by Sentry Guns.

PS: CCP has continually ignored my petitions asking about this. Thanks for the awesome customer support CCP!

So the secret to finding campable 0.4 gates is the ones without sentry guns? Unless you have -10 sec rating...

I'll admit I'm uninformed (that's why I started this thread, no?) but I was hunting someone who attacked a corpmate.
Live and learn though, no real harm done.

So even if they have a sec rating of -5.0 or lower you have to be out of SG range? That's no good... Concord won't attack you if they're -5.0 or lower though, right?

I'd love to hear CCP's response to this... seems a serious issue that needs to be dealt with. If people are getting attacked for shooting NPC pirates, players who attacked them, players they are at war with, and in other such absurd situations then I proclaim "BROKE" and deem that CCP should get *****ing on it.
